How we planted Tomatoes from seeds

Home grown tomatoes, in my experience, are one of the finickiest plants to grow.   When Aaron and I started planning out our garden, we decided not to plant any tomato plants.  When our seeds came in, one of the company’s sent us a free pack of tomato seeds.  For a lark, Aaron decided to plant them in the new raised bed he built.  I couldn’t believe the results.  The tomatoes did the best of anything else we planted.

To have the results seen in the pictures above, all we did was plant the seeds in potting soil in late April or the first of May.  I have never seen such a successful growth when the growers put absolutely no effort in growing them.  It survived the cat laying in the box and moving the seeds around.

Our approach to gardening is a bit different, but isn’t completely unsuccessful.  There is something to say about the hands off approach especially if using raised beds.  The weeding in almost nonexistent.
