Pantry Challenge Week 5 Ice Storm Pivot: Realistic Meals That Survive Power Outages

Pantry Challenge Week 5 Ice Storm Pivot: Realistic Meals That Survive Power Outages

Ice storm incoming, power outage likely… and I had to pivot my pantry challenge meal plan FAST. In this video, I’m digging deep into my freezer and pantry to pull together realistic, budget-friendly meals that we can even reheat on our wood stove if the power goes out.

We’re in a pantry challenge, so I’m not doing a big grocery haul this week—just a few fresh fruit items and milk. The goal is to use what we already have, rotate older food, and keep our pantry well-stocked while sticking to our $150 monthly grocery budget. What we’re cooking:

Breakfast

– Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread

Lunch

– Stuffed Pepperoni Rolls

– Stuffed Turkey & Cheese Rolls

– Garden and Cheese Puffs on the side

Dinner

– Freezer Lasagnas

– Ravioli with Meatballs in Sauce

– Hearty Chili

All of these meals:

– Freeze well

– Reheat easily (even without power)

– Use deep-freezer finds like lasagnas, meatballs, ravioli, and tomatoes

– Rely on pantry essentials like spaghetti sauce, beans, canned meat, seasonings, oil, and more

Batch cooking tip: We eat leftovers for a couple of days and freeze extra portions as “TV dinners” for fast, realistic meals later in the week.

If you’re prepping for winter storms, doing a pantry challenge, or trying to stretch a tight grocery budget, this is for you.
